Privacy and Personal Information
In accordance with the provisions of the Act respecting access to documents held by private bodies and the protection of personal information (the “Act”), Addendum implements a Privacy Policy setting out the terms of confidentiality.

Addendum cares about protecting the privacy of the public and its partners. These Terms apply to you. They describe how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information when you use our Services (as defined below). They also aim to answer any questions you may have and inform you about your rights concerning your personal information.
When you provide us with personal information in connection with your use of our Services, we assume you consent to its processing as described in these Terms.
When do these terms apply and what do they cover?
These privacy terms apply:

When you use our digital assets, including our websites or digital communications, newsletters (“Digital Assets”). These Digital Assets are intended for adult users (“Adult Users”) or corporations;

When you interact with us through these Digital Assets and in all cases where we ask for your express consent to apply these Terms;

When we use technologies that allow us to identify you among other individuals, locate you, or profile you, including cookies;

When a natural person enters into a contract with Addendum and provides personal information in connection with that relationship, subject to the provisions of the law in this regard.
We use the term “Services” to refer to all or any of the activities mentioned above and related ones. Addendum recognizes that children generally do not have the capacity to fully understand and properly judge practices relating to their personal information online. Therefore, although these Terms include information on how we collect, use, and disclose personal information of child Users, these Privacy Terms are intended for Adult Users.
Use of Addendum’s social media pages, including the information you choose to display or share there, will be governed by the privacy policies or terms of those social media platforms. To the extent that we collect data via these social media pages, these Terms will additionally apply to our processing of your data collected through them.
What personal information do we collect about you and for what purposes?
“Personal information” refers to information that directly or indirectly identifies a natural person, such as name, address, email address, telephone number, and any other information that identifies you alone or in combination with other information.
The table below lists the personal information we collect from you. This information is collected through our Digital Assets, via online forms and/or electronic communication.
If we wish to use your personal information for reasons other than those mentioned below, and unless the law permits otherwise, we will ask for your consent.

Privacy and Personal Information
At Addendum, only staff members involved in the processes described above have access to the relevant personal information.
We may also share the personal information listed above with third-party service providers who assist us in serving you. Sometimes, these providers are located outside Québec.
We limit the collection of personal information to what is necessary for the purposes stated above, including providing our Services, complying with applicable laws, and for marketing and analytical purposes.
Will I receive emails from you, and if so, about what?
We are committed to responsibly managing email addresses and using them in accordance with the law and your consent. When you subscribe to communications from us via our Digital Assets, discussion platforms, or blogs, we may occasionally inform you by email or other means about our programs, activities, contests, promotions, surveys, customer studies, promotional offers, or other benefits related to our partners' products or services. You will have the opportunity to unsubscribe from newsletters each time you receive communication from us. However, even if you unsubscribe, certain specific situations may allow us to send you emails and other electronic communications as permitted by law.
What protections do I have if my personal information is shared with a third party?
We may disclose your personal information when necessary in certain contexts, particularly to provide, manage, secure, and market our Services. These third parties may be located outside Québec. When Addendum shares your personal information with third parties, they are required to comply with the law and Addendum's personal information protection requirements. We may also disclose your personal information without your consent if permitted by law or if we believe in good faith that it is necessary to comply with legal obligations, such as responding to a court order, subpoena, search warrant, or cooperating with a government agency or law enforcement body.
Do you use cookies and other automated technologies? Can I control them?
Cookies are information sent and stored on your device to identify it. They allow us, for example, to operate our Digital Assets efficiently, improve security, fix bugs, and perform certain usage analyses.
More specifically, our Digital Assets may use the following cookies for the described purposes:

Essential: These cookies are necessary for the proper functioning of our sites and applications. They allow us to ensure essential services and functionalities, including service continuity and security. They cannot be disabled.

Analytics and Statistics: These cookies generate anonymous data about the number of visits and how visitors use our sites and applications. This data helps us improve our services and visitor experience.

Advertising: These cookies allow us and our partners to recommend more relevant products and services and display ads, including on other sites, based on your tastes and browsing habits. This refers to interest-based (targeted) advertising. Please note that if these cookies remain disabled, the number of ads will not decrease, but they will be less relevant to you.
Regarding the management of your browsing preferences, Addendum uses a third-party "consent management platform" that allows you to make informed choices about cookies and other automated data collection technologies. You can at any time review or modify your initial preferences to enable or disable certain features via the Cookie Management link.
Also, to enhance your experience, we may use cookies to remember your preferences and avoid asking you repeatedly.
Addendum uses, among others, Google Analytics in its Services. For more details on how Google Analytics processes your data, please consult Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. Google Analytics collects information about your online behavior across multiple websites via cookies. Télé-Québec also retains certain data collected by Google Analytics for analysis and statistics, such as counting visitors, most visited pages, type of devices used, visited sites, and visitor origin. However, Google Analytics does not transmit personal information to Addendum.
Will I receive interest-based advertising (targeted advertising)?
If you give your consent via our "consent management platform," we may collect data to provide you with advertisements about goods and services that may interest you. These data are collected (i) through targeted advertising cookies associated with a random digital identification number (see the section above); (ii) directly when you provide us with personal information; and/or (iii) by matching this data with publicly available statistics obtained from a third party.
How do you ensure the security of personal information?
We take reasonable security measures to protect your personal information against loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, unauthorized modification, and during transfer to third parties for processing or other purposes. These measures include physical, organizational, and technological safeguards tailored to the sensitivity of the information, the purpose of its use, quantity, distribution, and storage medium.
Personal information is protected with measures proportional to the value of the information, based on risks, their likelihood, and consequences. We use multi-layer firewalls, antivirus software, secure servers, and digital platforms secured by cybersecurity protocols.
Despite these measures, the Internet cannot guarantee complete protection or security of your information. Therefore, you acknowledge and consent that we cannot be held liable for damages resulting from the transmission of confidential or personal information over the Internet when caused by factors beyond our control.
Where is personal information stored?
We host your personal information in Canada. However, our service providers may be located elsewhere worldwide and may host your personal information in another jurisdiction to provide their services.
When your personal information is transferred outside Québec, other laws may apply. However, before entrusting such information to a third party outside Québec, we conduct an assessment to ensure adequate protection considering sensitivity, security measures, and intended uses.
How long do you retain personal information?
We retain personal information only for the duration necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or as otherwise provided in these Terms. Thereafter, personal information is securely and confidentially destroyed.
What are my rights regarding my personal information?
Right of Access and Correction
You may request access to your personal information we hold about you and obtain a copy. If any personal information about you is inaccurate, incomplete, or ambiguous, or if its collection, disclosure, or retention is unauthorized by law, you may request correction.
Right to Withdraw Consent
You may withdraw your consent to our use or disclosure of your personal information. In some cases, withdrawal may mean we can no longer provide you with certain Services. Otherwise, we will inform you of the consequences before obtaining your consent.

Can these Terms be modified?
We may modify these Terms. We will notify you at least 15 days before changes take effect, except if a shorter period is necessary. When notifying you of such an update, we will share the general nature of the changes, the effective date, and, if a shorter notice is required, explain why.
